San Francisco is coming off a 2-14 season and hasn’t made the playoffs since the 2013 campaign. It is probably too early to ask Shanahan’s bunch to compete for the postseason in 2017, but he did help lead the Atlanta Falcons to last season’s Super Bowl as the offensive coordinator.
